| | atmos | ] | Was springcleaning today and found this Salvation Army flyer. I had kept it because (like a true hoarder, I had a reason!) I wanted to spread the information contained in it, hence...this blog!
Actually, have long wanted to create website where charity donors and organisations can put up what they have and what they need, respectively, so that our acts of giving are better organised and meet actual needs. With little waste, too. This blog isn't what I envisioned by far, but it's a start!
OK. Details about The Salvation Army:
Firstly, to the uninitiated, they aren't the rifle-toting kind. Concentrate on the second word in their name rather than the last and you'll get the gist of where they're from.
Anyway, they have this brilliant practice of collecting good used items and selling them to the poor at minimal cost--yeah, pre-Reject Shop! Only they call it the Family Thrift Store.
The hotline is 03-8061 4757 (but let me check again to see if it still works. This flyer was like years ago).
